Volunteering is a great way to meet people, get involved in your community, see movies and damn it, feel good! There are many ways you can volunteer your time and your skills to Inside Out:
Office Worker Bees: Provide admin support to our tiny hard-working office team. Tasks include data entry, mailing, filing, organising, writing etc. Generally shifts only available Mon-Fri during office hours.
Programming: Assist the programming team with inputting and organising submissions and dubbing tapes. Mon-Fri during office hours.
Special Events: Help out at year-round screenings and special events: ushering, ticket-taking, setting-up, postering, guest list and generally lending a hand.
For every four hour shift you volunteer, you will receive one regular screening voucher for the upcoming Festival.
Anyone interested in volunteering for the 20th Anniversary Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film and Video Festival should attend one of our Volunteer Orientation and Sign-up Sessions. Meet the charismatic staff of Inside Out and hear about all of this year's exciting volunteer opportunities. Sign up to help out with front of house, guest relations, special events, membership and more to earn tickets to Inside Out screenings and an invitation to Inside Out's Annual Volunteer Appreciation Party.
This year we will be holding three sessions. You need only attend ONE session to sign-up. Please arrive promptly at the beginning of the session for orientation, which will be followed by a sign-up period:
Session One: Wednesday May 5, 6:00-9:00pm, at the Urbanspace Gallery, located at 401 Richmond Street West, on the first floor near the CFMDC.
Session Two: Saturday May 8, 3:00-5:00pm, at The 519 Church Street Community Centre in the Auditorium, located at 519 Church Street , on the second floor.
Session Three: Sunday, May 9 at 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Toronto Free Gallery, 1277 Bloor Street West (Just east of Lansdowne Avenue).
